Hello Monterey Park Families
Our teachers have returned to school and they are busy getting their classrooms ready. We cannot wait to see all your children next week!
Tomorrow, you will receive an email from your child’s new teacher. They will introduce themselves and tell you where to meet them on the first day of school.
Many of you may have heard about the pending Alberta Teachers’ strike. At this time, CBE staff do not know the status of ongoing negotiations. We are operating as normal and assuming that school will start as expected on Tuesday, Sept 2. When we know any updated information, we will inform you as soon as we can.
Our school office is now open. If you have not yet registered your student, please do so ASAP. We use all new enrolment information to balance our classes as best we can.
Please note the date of our MPS Family Picnic - Sept 11. Food trucks will be available from 5-7pm.
Our first School Council meeting will be held on Sept 18 at 6pm at the school. There will be an online link and babysitters available. More information to follow.
Coffee and Conversation
Parents are invited to have a coffee and conversation in the learning commons after dropping students off on the First Day of School. 9:13-9:45.

Parent Education Night
School Council invites you to join them on September 25 for a discussion with a special guest from Core Psychology to talk about our kids’ mental health and wellness. All parents are welcomed to come. Time TBD.

Casino Volunteers Needed | Oct. 4 & 5
This is our biggest fundraiser and ensures that your children have unique and exciting learning opportunities and resources at school. We need many volunteers to make it a success. Please use this link to sign up!

Fri: 9:13 - 12:55
Please note that this year all students will wait outside until the bell rings at 9:10.
Students will not be waiting inside the school for classes to start.
