Hello Monterey Park Families,

We hope you’re all enjoying the warmer weather. With it comes ice on the playground and pathways. Please remind your children to go slow and play safely. Listening to outside supervisors helps avoid accidents! Our facility operator will be gravelling some of the major pathways, but they cannot get to all. They are not able to get to every icy spot on the playground. Please be extra careful in the staff parking lot area especially, and remember no parent parking in that area. If you have any questions, please reach out.

Loose Parts Learning at MPS

“Loose parts are open-ended materials that can be moved, combined, re-designed and manipulated in countless ways, encouraging creative, exploration and problem solving” - Simon Nicholson As part of our continued story-telling work this year, we have started to build a collection of “loose parts” that your children will be using to generate creativity and enhance learning. Be sure to ask them about it! We have been using this book as a resource, and many of the ideas would be great at home to practice oral English language and improve reading and writing.

Parents and families, please join us in the gym on Friday, December 20 at 11:45 AM for a holiday sing-a-long. ALL morning and T/TH kindergarten students are welcome to attend with their parent at 11:45 AM on this day.
