It’s almost the end of January already! Teachers are busy writing report cards and our Grades 3-6 students are in rehearsals for their part in the upcoming performance. MPS is a busy place. Please note the important dates in the column to the left.
Family Literacy Week
January 26 - February 2 is Family Literacy Week. CBE has created the following sheet that includes literacy activities you can enjoy as a family:

We’ve Got the Beat!
Our Div II performance will be on February 5. We will have two shows: 2:30 and 6:00 PM. Tickets are now available and many families have ordered. Tickets will come home with your child as soon as orders are processed. Order at this link. Tickets are free.
All Grades 3-6 students should arrive for the concert by 5:45 PM
If you received a yellow school bus notice for transportation to the performance, please fill it out and return it to your child’s teacher ASAP. We need to know how many families will use the bus service to attend the show.
Ramadan
We will host a Ramadan assembly on Wednesday, February 18 at 2:30 PM. All are welcome to join us to learn more about this cultural event that man y of our MPS families participate in.
Lunar New Year
February 23-27 is Lunar New Year Week at MPS. Students will be working in their school buddy groups to create visual art that will showcase the beauty of this celebration. Families are welcome to join us for a Lunar New Year Art Walk on February 26 at 11 AM.
Valentine’s Day at MPS
We will celebrate this day on Wednesday, February 11. Students are welcome to write Valentines to all of their classmates or bring a treat that they can share. Teachers will send home lists with students’ first names so you can write cards at home if you wish.
