Hello Monterey Park Families
December is right around the corner and for many of our families this is a month of celebration and holiday cheer as they celebrate events like Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. According to our cultural survey, Christmas is most widely celebrated within our school community with 60% of our families celebrating this event in their own way. We can’t wait to hear their stories.
Our teachers are busy preparing learning activities for the students. Some of you may be wondering if we will be having a Winter Concert. This year, we will be having a performance in late January for Grades 4-6. Kindergarten to Grade 3 will have a concert in the spring. More information will follow.

Purdys Chocolate Orders due November 29!

Please include your child’s name, teacher’s name and grade in the “additional information” section of the order form.
The price through the fundraiser is the same as you would pay in stores but Monterey Park School will get 25% of proceeds. The Council will use this money to pay for learning enhancements for all MPS students.
Please order delicious treats for the winter holiday season!
Snack Reminders
Just a few quick reminders:
- Send small pocket snacks for recess time
- Students should be able to open snacks by themselves
- Students are not allowed to share snacks at school
- Lunches cannot be heated at school

- Cheese and Crackers
- Hummus and Veggies
- Frozen yogurt tubes
We are a “nut aware” school. Please avoid sending nuts when possible.
