Hello Monterey Park Families

What a busy week at MPS! This afternoon is our Diwali assembly at 2:00. Please join us as we hear stories of how some of our students and families celebrate this event. We would love to see you there. Thank you in advance to those community members who have helped us prepare for this assembly and to those who will be presenting today. It has been wonderful to see the community be so involved.

Tomorrow is Halloween. Please read the information below if you plan to send your student to school in a costume.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

Halloween

The second cultural event we will be celebrating this week is Halloween. In our cultural events survey, we learned that about 50% of families at MPS celebrate Halloween each year.

Students are able to wear costumes to school tomorrow, Thursday, Oct 31. Here are a few guidelines to ensure this is a safe and fun event for all students.

Please:

Do not send weapons to school.

Ensure that costumes are not gory or too scary for our littlest people to see and they do not include an vulgar language.

Students should wear their costumes to school and be prepared to be in them for the day. We cannot accommodate costume changes here.

Fall Break

Please note that Fall Break is coming up. The last day of classes for all students will be Thursday, Nov 7. Students return to school on Thursday, Nov 14.

Remembrance Day

Our Remembrance Day assembly will be held on Nov 7 at 10:30 am. Families are welcome to join us.
