Hello Monterey Park Families,

Please take a moment and sign up to volunteer at our casino on October 4/5. We need many of you to help us run this event. MPS depends on funds raised at the casino to provide enhanced learning opportunities for your children.

MPS Welcome Back Picnic

Thank you to those families that came out to our picnic on Monday. The food was delicious thank you to YYC Food Trucks and it was great to see you all!

School Council

Tomorrow is our first meeting this year. Please join us in the learning commons at 6pm or online using the meeting link . Each month, we will feature a new “hot topic” that parents will be interested in.

This month’s hot topic is: 🔥Conflict vs Bullying: Do You Know the Difference?

National Day for Truth & Reconciliation - Sept 30

At Monterey Park, we will be sharing the story: WALKING TOGETHER as we talk about ways to honour the important work of reconciliation by moving forward together in a good way. Use the link to explore the story with your child as part of this

Terry Fox Run

Ms Christopher Terry Fox Run

Thank you for your generous donations for Terry Fox. MPS raised over $1000 this year for cancer research. And….the students were pretty excited to see Ms. Christopher get a pie in the face!

School Pick Up

When you arrive to pick up your child(ren) please go to their designated door to meet them or choose a “family meeting spot” somewhere near the school but NOT at the front door. Our kindergarten students will be entering and exiting through this door this year - and it can get very busy!

Also - please do not block the driveways of our neighbours as you park to pick up your child. We have had some phone calls to the school complaining that people cannot access their property.

School Bus

If your child usually takes the bus and they will NOT be riding it after school, you must let the office know. Daily attendance is done on the bus.

PE SHOES

Please ensure that your child has a pair of running shoes at school that they can wear for PE classes. Crocs, sandals and boots are not safe for most PE activities.

If you have any questions, please reach out.
