Hello Monterey Park Families
Wow! And just like that it is the end of September! Thank you to all of our Monterey Park families and students for such a wonderful start to the school year. We are settled and underway for a great year of learning and growing.
Our meet the teacher and family picnic night was a great success with almost 70% attendance across the whole school. It was so great to visit with you all. We want everyone to feel that they belong in the MPS school community.
This year, at MPS, students can wear a Halloween costume to school on Thursday, October 31 if they would like to. Please be mindful of students of all ages and limit violent or scary themes.
If you require assistance, please let us know.

Don’t forget you are invited to a school assembly tomorrow, Thursday, September 26 @ 10:30 am in our gym to acknowledge Truth & Reconciliation.

School Council - THANK YOU
Thank you to all the parents who joined us for our September school council meeting last night. It was wonderful to see new faces and the Grade 6 students enjoyed sharing stories of their learning.
We really enjoyed our conversation and all of your questions about LGBTQ curriculum and PAT testing in Alberta. You are the voices of our families and we need to hear you!
We heard many positive comments from parents about how much they enjoyed the chance to connect with others and ask questions about topics that are important in their families.
If you were unable to make it this time, please join us next time!
Next Meeting: October 23 at 6:00pm. Babysitting available in gym.
School council still needs: Fundraising Coordinator and Communications Coordinator
